Protein chia dessert

Super nourishing, bursting with valuable elements, a dessert charged with protein is the perfect post-workout meal. However, it’s not a delicacy limited for runners only – it’s a healthy snack during the day, which will protect your body and take care of your health.

WHY CHIA?

Chia seeds (Salvia Hispanica) is one of the healthiest foods in the world. It is packed with nutritional values. The most important of these are:

  • Omega-3 acids – even more than in Atlantic salmon, considered one of the best sources of omega-3 acids. They affect your brain, help you learn, improve memory and concentration, help your eyesight and lower bad cholesterol levels.
  • Antioxidants – they hinder the production of free radicals
  • Fiber, fiber and fiber again – most carbohydrates in chia seeds come from fiber that is not digested in the body. Therefore chia is considered a low-carb food. Fiber also promotes the development of a friendly bacterial flora in the intestines and also slows down the absorption of other carbohydrates.
  • High quality protein – in chia we find about 16% high quality protein, i.e. containing 91 of 100 amino acids, which makes it beat all the other seeds in this regard. It’s a great proposal for vegans and vegetarians.
  • High levels of vitamins and minerals – such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, which are bone components. From vitamins, in chia we find a high content of vitamins C, E, A, niacin and riboflavin.
  • They stabilize the blood glucose – and so, they are highly recommended for diabetics

RECIPE

INGREDIENTS (1 serving):

  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 cup (200 ml) coconut milk
  • 1 serving (30g) protein powder
  • favorite fruits

PREPARATION:

  1. mix protein powder with milk well
  2. Add chia seeds to the liquid. Put into fridge.
  3. After an hour, stir the dessert a bit and put into fridge again, best for the whole night.
  4. In the morning, the dessert should be very thick. Add your favorite fruits and serve or keep in the fridge for later.
